This Saturday was Bolo's birthday, so he got to decide what we did the whole weekend. Saturday evening we had some friends over for dinner. A homemade dinner of salad, spaghetti, and garlic bread, with dump birthday cake and blueberry muffins with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Weird combo with the muffins, I know, but some of our guests have dietary restrictions so I had to make them something special instead of dump cake. No biggie, I LOVE cooking.
Sunday was a recovery day. With all the partying the night before, I was not digging the idea of going out. I don't even think Bolo was sober when he woke up. So we had a pretty chill Sunday at home, full of watching Honey Boo Boo, murdering people on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and the best Indian food ever.
In Towson there's an Indian restaurant on Allegheny Ave, just after the circle, called Kathmandu Kitchen. Their chicken tikka masala is DELICIOUS. And I love their raisin naan bread. It usually comes with nuts too, but I request those are left off. Anyway, this place is sooooo good we eat there a lot, so much that I'm the mayor on foursquare. Come to find out, they deliver. Best. news. EVER. So we order from them quite a bit.
Speaking of Indian food, and Bolo; he was the first person to introduce me to Indian food. I mean sure I had gone to the local Indian cafe in high school for a World Cultures class, but it was not good food. On one of my trips to Jersey when I was still living in Iowa, Bolo took me to an Indian place. I had no idea what to order, so he helped me pick out a dish, probably chicken tikka masala, because that's what I order every time now. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but it was so bomb, and I was hooked instantly.
So it was a pretty fun weekend, and I hope Bolo had a great birthday!

Dead Pocket
After rediscovering Ticketmaster earlier in the week, I found out that Jim Gaffigan would have two shows in Baltimore on January 12th. That Saturday happened to be the same Saturday the Ravens were playing, and my boyfriend somehow finagled us front row tickets. After having a couple Bolo and I are friends with over for a pregaming drink or two, we all packed into our Escape and drove into Baltimore.
The show was at the Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric in Baltimore. It was kind of a weird little area, where the roads weren't all perfectly straight like in my hometown in Iowa. I've noticed that A LOT about towns on the East Coast. The roads all go in weird curves and angles. Anyway! We parked in the event parking, which was something ridiculous like $16, and headed inside, grabbed some drinks, and found our seats. Our seats happened to be 100-103AA. Which were the first four seats infront of stage on the left side of the theater. They were good. Real good. Like almost as good as our 3D TV good.
Anywho, for those of you who don't know who Jim Gaffigan is, well... he's a pretty funny comedian, who jokes about his wife, having kids, and life in general. Anyway, he does a pretty famous skit about Hot Pockets. Well... I'll just show you. He was pretty funny at the show, and he even did dead pockets so I was sated.
After the show, we sat in the parking garage for what seemed like an eternity. Then out of nowhere EVERYONE starts honking and screaming. Like I'm kind of worried that the parking garage is collapsing. Then we realize it's because the Ravens won, and were that much closer going to the Superbowl. (SideNote: Yes, they are in the Superbowl, I'm just really behind on posting).
After finally escaping the parking garage, and the crazy Ravens fans, we went to the Italian restaurant chain Bertucci's that's closer to our places Towson. It's pizza and pasta, and it's pretty fast and yummy. So it's always good when you don't really know what you want. However, it's no Little Italy, which I hope to be doing a post on pretty soon (hint to my boyfriend)!!

Good morning Baltimore!
Welcome to my new blog! I not so recently moved to Baltimore, by way of Towson, around 6 or 7 months ago with my boyfriend Bolo. Coming from small town, Iowa, it's quite a big difference. Bolo's from north Jersey, like right next to NYC, so he's used to people and traffic, and having loads of stuff to do. This has been a major adjustment for me, so to cope with this, and to share in all my adventures around Towson and Baltimore, and I guess the whole East Coast for that matter, I started this blog.
So, the title of my Blog, Baltimore and Bubbles, was inspired by the song "Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray. The last line of the song is "Baltimore and me." Welp, me is Bubbles, so there we go! As for Hairspray, not really my thing. I haven't seen it, nor do I care to. I know it's a big cult classic, but please don't hurt me! I like video games better.
As I write my blog I hope to learn more about my new home, seeing as I do plan on living here for quite some time, and I also hope to educate some of my friends, family, whoever reads my blog, on some awesome stuff to do, because let's face it. Boredom sucks.
